Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR) is the nodal agency of Government of Maharashtra to disseminate information to print and electronic media on Government policies, programme initiatives and achievements.
It has earned reputation of maintaining dialogue between Government and people through effective medium of Lokrajya, Dilkhulas, Jai Maharashtra and other projects. Lokrajya monthly is the mouthpiece of Government of Maharashtra, published in Marathi and Urdu. Marathi Lokrajya is the highest circulated Government publication in the country. It has ABC certified circulation of 3,87,000 copies. Dilkhulas is an interactive programme launched on Akashwani. So far about three hundred and nine important personalities in various walks of life have been interviewed. Jai Maharashtra is telecast on Sahyadri Channel of Doordarshan. In this Government development schemes have reached people through interviews of about hundred dignitaries. Honourable Chief Minister has projected a new version of e-governance. Hence DGIPR has taken a latest step towards e-communication. Yes! It is Mahanews. Mahanews is a giant leap towards decentralisation of information resulting in deepening of information at grassroot level. www.mahanews.gov.in is an official web portal of DGIPR, Government of Maharashtra providing online information.
DGIPR stands for teamwork. Here officers and employees work without any desire but with dedication and coordination and hence are following true work culturing successfully.
